No Seders With Grandparents This Year

Ahead of Passover which begins at sunset on Wed. 8 April 2020 and amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett published a video imploring Jews around the world to abide by strict social-distancing rules at their upcoming Seders. “You do not do it this year with grandma and grandpa,” he emphasized. “There will be no Passover Seder with young people and old people together because that’s the single most lethal combination.” People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. More rarely, the disease can be serious and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions such as asthma or heart disease, may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.
