Costa Rica Designates IRGC, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthis as Terror Organizations

Costa Rica designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Yemen’s Houthis as terrorist organizations on Wednesday, April 8, the country’s Foreign Ministry confirmed. The government made the decision on Monday, April 6, in what it described as an action taken in accordance with Costa Rica’s international commitments to fighting terrorism and its financing.

The designation will “allow intelligence authorities and judicial bodies to strengthen their prevention, investigation, and prosecution capabilities, acting more decisively against any logistical and financial support networks that may be operating within the country,” the ministry stated. It also seeks to prevent any form of action or influence by these groups in Costa Rica.

Several countries have designated the IRGC as terrorists since Operation Roaring Lion began, after Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar raised the issue with counterparts. Iceland, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Liechtenstein designated the group on March 20, followed by Argentina on March 31.

"Dear Lord, we thank You for opening the eyes of nations around the world to the threat of terrorism and for moving their leaders to take decisive action. We pray in Yeshua’s Name that every financial network funding violence against Israel and innocent people will be exposed and dismantled. We ask that You continue to raise up allies for Israel among the nations, and that the forces of darkness operating through these terrorist organizations will be brought to nothing by Your mighty hand."
