Mike Huckabee Will Be the Next US Ambassador to Israel
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced on Tuesday, November 12, that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is his choice for the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel.
“I am pleased to announce that the Highly Respected former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has been nominated to be The United States Ambassador to Israel. Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years. He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!” Trump stated.
Israeli officials welcomed Huckabee’s nomination. Defense Minister Gidon Sa’ar wrote, “Congratulations @GovMikeHuckabee on the announcement of your nomination as US Ambassador to Israel.”
“I look forward to working with you to strengthen the bond between our peoples. As a longstanding friend of Israel and our eternal capital Jerusalem - I hope you will feel very much at home,” Sa’ar added.
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon stated, “Welcome to Israel Ambassador Huckabee! Congratulations my dear friend Mike on your appointment to the position of United States Ambassador to Israel.
