Top Iranian Cleric Issues Fatwa Against Trump & Netanyahu
Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, one of Iran’s most senior Shia clerics, has issued a fatwa declaring U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as "enemies of God" and "mohareb"—those who wage war against Allah.
The fatwa calls for Muslims worldwide to oppose these leaders, who are accused of threatening the unity of the Islamic community. Under Iranian law, those labeled as mohareb can face severe punishments, including execution. Shirazi said any Muslim who aids Trump or Netanyahu should also be punished similarly.
This decree comes after Israel’s Operation Rising Lion and U.S. involvement through airstrikes, including reports that Trump stopped an assassination attempt on Iran’s Supreme Leader and hinted at regime change.
Critics warn the decree incites global terrorism, echoing past fatwas like the one against Salman Rushdie. In response, Netanyahu affirmed Israel's resolve to protect its citizens. (INN/VFI News)
