The Israeli strike at the end of October on Iran’s military complex in Parchin significantly hindered Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear bomb, according to two senior Israeli officials.  

The sophisticated equipment destroyed in the attack was essential for shaping and testing plastic explosives that encase uranium in a nuclear device and crucial for initiating a nuclear chain reaction.   

Iran previously used the equipment before it froze its military nuclear program in 2003. Over the past year, Iran has resumed research related to nuclear weapons, according to American and Israeli officials, although it has not taken concrete steps toward building a nuclear bomb.  

The Israeli officials noted that if Iran decides to develop nuclear weapons, it would need to replace the destroyed equipment.

Additionally, they believe Israeli or American intelligence would likely detect any attempt by Iran to build or acquire such machinery. “This equipment is a bottleneck. The Iranians are stuck without it,” one of them stated. (JPost / VFI News)

US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel on Saturday, November 16. 

Graham’s office said in a statement following the meeting that the Senator told Netanyahu that he believes that America has no better friend than Israel and that he has never been more worried about an Iranian nuclear breakout than right now.  

Graham conveyed the following to the Prime Minister: “Do what you have to do to prevent the Iranian ayatollah from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.”  

“In Senator Graham’s estimation, a nuclear-armed Iranian ayatollah is an existential threat to Israel and a nightmare for the world,” his office said.  

The Senator stressed, “It is imperative that the United States is seen and heard as having Israel’s back against the threat coming from Iran.” (INN /VFI News)

An Israeli airstrike on a building in a central neighborhood of the Lebanese capital Beirut on Sunday, November 17, killed the top spokesman for the Hezbollah terror group.  

Both the IDF and Hezbollah confirmed that media relations chief Mohammed Afif was killed in the strike on the Ras al-Naba’a neighborhood.  

The IDF said in a statement said Afif “wielded significant influence over Hezbollah’s military operations” and “glorified and incited” attacks on Israel.  

Unlike dozens of other Israeli attacks carried out in Beirut this past week, the strike killing Afif was not carried out in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold known as Dahiyeh, but rather nearer the center of the capital.  

The building where Afif was targeted housed the offices of the Syrian Ba’ath Party, Hezbollah said. The IDF did not issue any evacuation warning before the strike, as it was an assassination and did not target Hezbollah’s infrastructure. (TOI / VFI News)

Israelis on Saturday night, November 16, continued to hold nationwide demonstrations demanding a ceasefire and the release of hostages held in Gaza.  

Einav Zangauker, whose son Matan Zangauker is among the hostages, spoke during a protest in Tel Aviv and issued a direct appeal to US President-elect Donald Trump, urging him to press Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the conflict in Gaza and secure the hostages’ release.  

“Mr. President, please enter the fray now. The hostages will not survive the winter. They won’t last [through the period] until you are sworn in, in January,” Zangauker warned.  

She questioned the government’s priorities, stating, “How is it possible that an Israeli proposal to end the war in the north has been put forward, but there is no Israeli initiative to end the war in the south?”  

Itzik Horn, whose two sons, Eitan and Yair, were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, said, “Major General Nitzan Alon told the cabinet members this week that time is running out, that winter is coming and that conditions are deteriorating. According to the doctors, the hostages who are still alive are in a terrible state of health.”

Recently, Egypt publicly proposed a two-day ceasefire deal in which four Israeli hostages would be released in exchange for terrorist prisoners held in Israel. Later, sources in Hamas told Arabic media that the terrorist organization is willing to consider Egypt’s proposal as well as other proposals. (INN/VFI News)

“Lord, we pray for the hostages who are experiencing immense difficulties, especially with the cold weather and impending winter. We pray that You cause Hamas to agree to a favorable deal for our hostages so that they will soon be released and have their physical and mental needs taken care of. We pray in Yeshua’s name that they will not experience a second winter in captivity.” 

Israelis reached out to Israel’s rape crisis centers 55,044 times in 2023, the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel said in a report released on Monday, November 18. 

Some 17,484 of them were new entries to the centers. Some 81% of sex offense cases were closed without an indictment being issued, the centers said, adding that the Police Investigations department did not open an investigation in 88% of cases dealing with sexual harassment by police officers. 

Of the complaints received by the ARCCI, 59% were about sex offenses against minors (up to age 18), 92% of the attackers were known to the victims, and 54% of the incidents reported to the ARCCI took place in the home of the attacker, or the person attacked.  

“The data presented in this report unfortunately reflect a grim picture of the inadequate handling of sexual violence by the law enforcement system,” said ARCCI head Orit Sulitzeanu.  

“The outrageous decision by the Police Internal Investigations Department not to investigate 88% of complaints about sexual harassment by police officers indicates there is reason to be concerned about what is happening within the system itself,” she explained. (JPost/VFI News)

A group of masked individuals brandishing Nazi symbols were filmed marching through Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, November 16, footage circulating on social media showed.  

Eyewitness footage shared around 1:45 p.m. local time captured at least eleven masked individuals marching along a sidewalk. The group carried flags with swastikas near the intersection of 1st Avenue and North High Street and used a megaphone to shout obscenities.  

Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin dismissed the marchers’ attempt to sow division and fear, saying, “I’ve been in touch with law enforcement about Nazis marching through the city. Pathetic efforts to promote fear and hate have no place here.”  

City Attorney Zach Klein also confirmed he was coordinating with Columbus police and monitoring the group’s activities. 

“Displays of neo-Nazi hate have no home in Columbus,” Klein wrote in a post on X. “Take your flags and the masks you hide behind and go home and never come back.” (INN /VFI News)

Argentine police arrested a man in Buenos Aires who possessed a large number of vintage Nazi weapons decorated with Third Reich symbols from Adolf Hitler’s infamous regime, officials said on Friday, November 15.  

Police seized over 60 firearms from the man’s home, including 43 rifles emblazoned with Nazi eagle markings, 15 pistols, five bayonets and a machine gun, according to a report from Argentina’s federal police.  

Nazi flags, military uniforms, hats, helmets as well as busts of Hitler were also confiscated by authorities, the report said. The home where the objects were found is located in the city of Quilmes, near the southern edge of the sprawling metro area of Buenos Aires, the capital. 

Personnel from the Buenos Aires Holocaust Museum assisted the law enforcement action, which sought to enforce a national anti-discrimination law, the police report said.

The Dutch government needs “more time” to flesh out a strategy to fight antisemitism after last week’s violence against Israeli soccer fans, the country’s justice minister wrote on Thursday, November 14.  

“Because of the terrible events of November 7 and 8 and because I want to promote a fruitful debate in parliament, I have decided to take more time to get a strategy ready,” Justice Minister David van Weel said. 

“The strategy will soon be sent to parliament,” he wrote in a letter to MPs, published late on Thursday. The authorities have set aside €4.5 million ($4.8 million) for the new strategy, including €1.2 million for securing Jewish institutions, Dutch media reported.  

Prime Minister Dick Schoof also told parliament on Wednesday that the government was looking at “far-reaching measures” to punish antisemitic violence. This included the possibility of scrapping Dutch nationality for people with dual nationality.
