With Shavuot beginning on Sunday, we would like to wish all of our readers a blessed and reflective holiday. We hope that you rejoice in the festivities along with your families, honor God's Holy convocation of no regular work, and reflect on the importance of observing the feasts of our Father and tracking them for yourselves. We pray that He will continue to guide you towards His Son and His path of salvation. We also pray for all the weary, the burdened, the ones who have lost family members, the hostages and their families to find rest in Yeshua and be freed from whatever they are suffering.

The funeral of the baby Ravid Chaim Gez, who died two weeks after his mother Tze'ela, was murdered in a terrorist attack near Baruchin, was held on Thursday, May 29, at the Har Hamenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem. 

Hananel Gez, Ravid Chaim's father and Tze'ela's husband, who was also wounded in the shooting that ultimately claimed the lives of two members of his family, stated at the funeral:

"My dear Ravid Chaim, I stand here with a heart broken twice. What can one say? There is nothing to say. I was privileged to see Ravid Chaim yesterday in the NICU—he was so sweet. He opened his eyes for a few seconds, and he looked like an angel." 

The father then addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly: "Prime Minister, I am speaking to you now. Where are you? I asked you to come to the NICU and see Ravid Chaim, to look into his eyes. Tomorrow, will there be another attack? Another family like mine? Has this become normal? Is this our reality now?" 

Shaked, Tze'ela's sister, tearfully eulogized her nephew: "Our Ravid, such a beautiful child. From the moment I first saw you, you captured my heart. We waited so long for you, your mother waited so long for you."

"Usually, a baby is born to a mother who wraps him in love and hugs—but you didn’t get that. She wasn’t there beside you, to kiss you, to hold you." (INN/VFI News) 

“Dear God, we pray for Hananel Gez and his family and we send our heartfelt condolences to them. We pray that You comfort them during this indescribably difficult period. We pray in Yeshua's Name that You give them rest, Your yoke that is easy and Your burden that is light. We pray that You cause them to turn to You and Your Son and restore their grieved spirit.”

Hamas on Monday, May 26, executed four men for looting some of the aid trucks that began entering Gaza, according to sources familiar with the incident, as a clan leader in southern Gaza issued a challenge to the terror group over guarding the convoys.

One source said the four were involved in an incident in which six security officials were allegedly killed by an Israeli airstrike as they were working to prevent gang members from hijacking aid trucks.

“The four criminals, who were executed, were involved in the crimes of looting and causing the death of members of a force tasked with securing aid trucks,” a source told British media.

Seven other suspects are being pursued, according to a statement issued by a Hamas-led umbrella group identifying itself as the “Palestinian Resistance.” 

Yasser Abu Shabab, a leader of a large clan in the Rafah area, which is now under full Israeli army control, said he was building up a force to secure aid deliveries into some parts of the enclave. He published images of his armed men receiving and organizing the traffic of aid trucks. (TOI/VFI News)

“Our Heavenly Father, we pray for all the Gazan civilians to receive the aid intended for them and their families. We pray that You give them their food and clean water at the appropriate times. We pray for their health and physical and mental restoration in Yeshua's Name. We also pray for all the Palestinian families that lost dear members and for the permanent dismantlement of the Hamas organization. We thank You who You are and for everything You do and we hope that You comfort everyone who needs it.”

The World Food Programme (WFP), a United Nations agency, confirmed on Wednesday, May 28, that “hordes” of Palestinians stormed one of its warehouses in Gaza, storming it for food and leaving at least four dead. The WFP incident reportedly occurred at a food warehouse in Deir Al-Balah.  

Reports from the ground described a scene in which Palestinian civilians “burst into the U.N.’s World Food Program warehouse Wednesday in the central Gaza Strip, pushing each other in the shadow of the cavernous facility’s main door.” 

“Others ripped off pieces of the metal walls in an effort to get inside,” American media detailed. As of Thursday morning, the news outlet reported that four people had died: two crushed by the “hordes” and two shot to death. 

Meanwhile, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a non-U.N. organization backed by America and Israel, has opened two distribution centers in Gaza this week which have, according to the group, successfully distributed over 800,000 meals without Hamas intervention — and despite Hamas actively warning Palestinian civilians not to take the food. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday, May 28, that Israel had killed senior Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar. Netanyahu made the announcement in a speech to the Knesset, the national legislature of Israel. The Israeli leader had previously only said that the terrorist leader had "apparently" been killed. 

Sinwar was one of Israel's most wanted targets. He was the focus of an Israeli strike on a hospital in southern Gaza earlier this month. At least 16 people were killed, and 70 others were wounded in the May 13 strike, Israeli media reported, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.

Sinwar's body was found in a tunnel in Khan Yunis, along with the bodies of ten of his aides, the outlet reported. 

Sinwar is the younger brother of the group's former leader, Yahya Sinwar, who was killed in an Israeli strike in October. Mohammed Sinwar assumed leadership of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, after his brother's death.

Mohammed Sinwar would have had the final word on any agreement to release the hostages and his death could further complicate U.S. and Arab efforts to broker a ceasefire. (FN/VFI News)

Beginning at 6:29 a.m., on Wednesday, May 28, the moment when Hamas launched its October 7, 2023 terrorist attack, Israelis gathered at different locations around the country in the formation of the yellow hostage symbol. The demonstrations, a call to free the 58 remaining hostages in Gaza, mark 600 days of war. 

People gathered in the predawn hours in the shallow waters of the Mediterranean Sea near the US Embassy branch in Tel Aviv, with the numbers 58 and 600 and “Save Them Now” spelled out in the sand. 

People stood in a circle at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, wearing yellow shirts and holding yellow balloons, waiting for the moment when the digital board counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds of captivity switches from 599 to 600. As the counter turned to 600, the circle released their balloons and called, “Bring them home now!” 

People gathered in a yellow formation on a grassy public knoll in Zichron Yaakov, tied a massive yellow hostage ribbon around Jaffa’s clocktower, held yellow balloons in Ramat Aviv, and created a human yellow ribbon around intersections in Hadera, Holon, Kfar Saba, Nahalal Junction, Modiin and Emek Hefer. 

At 7:10 a.m., a group of bereaved parents stood in a park across from the home of Knesset speaker Amir Ohana, speaking into a microphone, asking the Likud lawmaker to go out to his balcony and look at them. “Go out on your porch and look at us,” said one father. “Our children were killed and assaulted on October 7. For 600 days, you have turned away from us. We won’t let this break us, and we’ll continue to fight.” (TOI/VFI News) 

“Dear Lord, we come at Your Feet and pray with a heavy heart for all the hostages who have spent more than 600 days in Hamas’s lairs. We pray that You mediate their release as soon as possible, heal them completely and restore their spirit. We also ask that You comfort their families and cause our leaders to listen to them. In Yeshua's Name we pray, amen.” 

Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on foreign policy, met in Tehran with representatives of the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad to discuss recent developments in the Gaza Strip and the regional arena.

During the meeting, Velayati expressed absolute support for the “axis of resistance” and the ongoing war against Israel. He described the fighting in Gaza as “an extraordinary campaign and a victory in the history of islam,” stating that “ultimately, the Palestinian people will prevail thanks to their steadfastness and ongoing struggle.”

Velayati added: “The Zionist entity is destined to disappear from the world. Israel has no future and will never achieve its malicious goals. Its defeat in the Al-Aqsa Flood (the muslim name for the October 7 massacre - ed.) operation cannot be reversed, and it will not succeed in achieving its objectives.” 

Representatives of Hamas and Islamic Jihad also spoke at the meeting. Khaled al-Qaddoumi, Hamas’ representative in Iran, thanked the Iranian regime for its continued support of the Palestinians, saying that despite 19 months of warfare, “the Palestinian people continue to resist the plan for forced expulsion being led by the U.S. and Israel. This plan will be thwarted.”

Nasser Abu Sharif, representative of Islamic Jihad, echoed the sentiment, saying: “Palestine belongs to its residents, and no force in the world can cause them to leave their land.” (INN/VFI News)

In recent weeks, troops of the 210th Division and the Medical Corps have been operating a mobile forward facility for triage and treatment of the wounded in the area of Hader in southern Syria.

The facility is intended to provide medical care and support to the Syrian-Druze population in the area. So far, more than 500 Syrian civilians in need of medical assistance have been treated at the facility. 

"IDF troops continue to operate in Syria with the goal of maintaining the security of the residents of the Golan Heights and creating a forward security zone, alongside providing assistance to the local population," an IDF statement stressed. 

During the Syrian civil war, Israel operated the now-famous "Good Neighbor" project, which provided medical treatment to thousands of wounded and sick Syrians — many of whom were brought into Israel for care.

From 2013 to 2018, the IDF facilitated the transfer of over 4,900 wounded Syrians and more than 1,300 sick children to Israeli hospitals, in addition to establishing cross-border field clinics and delivering food, clothing, and medical supplies to war-torn villages near the Golan Heights. A group of international researchers say they're getting closer and closer to identifying the possible remains of Noah's Ark – and new test results are promising.

The focus of the research, the Durupinar site in eastern Turkey, was first identified in the 1950s. 

Researchers collected soil samples from the site last September and analyzed them through this winter. The results "show significantly higher levels of organic matter and potassium compared to surrounding areas," according to a recent statement from the organization.

"[The results] provide compelling evidence of a unique, potentially man-made structure beneath the surface, distinct from the surrounding mudflow," Noah's Ark Scans said. 

"These findings suggest the presence of decayed wood or other organic materials, consistent with a large, ancient structure preserved within the mudflow," the statement added. Lead archaeological researcher Andrew Jones told American media that researchers are registering 2.72 times more carbon inside the "boat-shaped object" compared to its immediate outside location. 

"The rotting ancient wood inside the boat-shaped area is likely creating a localized soil microenvironment by lowering pH … increasing organic matter [and] elevating potassium," he said. (FN/VFI News)
