VFI News 700 Days of War: IDF & ISA Eliminate Terror Chief Linked to Bibas Family Hostage-Taking

Chinese Missiles Fired at Israel? VFI News

Chinese missiles fired at Israel? In this week’s VFI News from Israel, Barry Segal reports on dramatic developments across the Middle East. The Israeli Air Force launched major airstrikes in Yemen, wiping out much of the Houthi leadership, including their prime minister, after continued missile attacks on Israel. Analysts warn that China has been supplying advanced missiles to the Houthis in order to test their weapons against Israel’s U.S.-developed defense systems. Meanwhile, Hezbollah in Lebanon is suffering devastating IDF strikes, Hamas lost its key spokesman Abu Obeid in Gaza, and Israel recovered the remains of hostages taken on October 7, 2023. Iran has been hit with renewed sanctions from the E3 powers—France, Britain, and Germany—though Russia and China continue to back Tehran. The report also covers Vision for Israel’s life-saving bomb shelter projects, IDF commando raids in Syria, and the possibility of Saudi Arabia entering the Abraham Accords. With Israel facing threats from Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran, the question remains: are Chinese missiles now being used to escalate the war against Israel?

IDF & ISA Announce: Terrorist Who Held Bibas Family Hostage Eliminated

The IDF and Israel Security Agency confirmed the elimination of the terrorist who held Shiri Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, hostage. He was identified as Musbah Salim Musbah Dayyah, the head of the Mujahideen terrorist organization in Gaza.

According to the statement, the joint activity occurred last week in the Nuseirat area. As head of the group, Dayyah recruited terrorist operatives in Judea and Samaria and within Israel, advancing and carrying out terror attacks. The IDF said the organization under his leadership orchestrated attacks against Israel and against IDF troops operating in Gaza.

The military noted that Dayyah became the organization’s leader after three previous heads were eliminated in recent months, and that his death further degrades the ability to direct attacks from Gaza into Judea and Samaria and other parts of Israel. Mujahideen terrorists were involved in the October 7 massacre, including abductions and murders, and acted as an extension of Hamas.

Among their crimes, the group held Shiri Bibas and her sons, Ariel and Kfir, who were murdered in captivity shortly after the war began. The IDF and ISA vowed to continue dismantling terrorist organizations and removing threats to the State of Israel.

Jerusalem: Kipa-Clad Arab Admits Terror Plan After Arrest

Forces from the Jerusalem Yasam (Israel Police Special Patrol Unit) arrested a Palestinian Arab who had entered Israeli territory illegally and raised their suspicions while walking in the capital. During a search, officers found a black kipa in his pocket; unable to explain it, he was taken to the Jerusalem District’s Shalem Station for questioning.

Investigators determined he had crossed from Judea and Samaria near a-Ram, north of Jerusalem. Under interrogation, the suspect admitted he intended to steal a weapon from a soldier and use it to carry out an act of terror.

Police emphasized that the officers’ vigilance foiled the planned attack and prevented potential loss of life.

Terror Attack Thwarted: Terrorist Shot in Operation in Village of Tamun

On Monday evening, September 1, IDF and Yamam counterterror forces opened fire during an operation in the Palestinian Arab village of Tamun in Samaria, targeting a wanted terrorist believed to be part of a cell planning an attack.

As the operation unfolded, a private vehicle approached the forces and was perceived as a threat; the forces opened fire. The gunfire injured three passengers from the same family.

Among the wounded was the wanted suspect—reportedly a member of the Palestinian Authority’s security apparatus—who was seriously injured. His wife and daughter sustained minor injuries.

Hamas Publishes Video of Gaza Hostages Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Alon Ohel

Hamas released a video on Friday, September 5, showing Israeli hostages Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel. In the footage, Gilboa-Dalal says he “couldn’t believe” he was still alive after 22 months of war and that he is being held in Gaza City.

The video’s timing—nearing the 700-day mark since October 7—sparked strong reactions from Israeli families and officials, and renewed calls for a deal to bring all captives home.

The clip circulated widely on social platforms after being posted to Hamas channels, amplifying the urgency of ongoing efforts to secure releases.

Hamas Reiterates Readiness for a Full Deal; Katz, PMO Dismiss Statement as ‘Empty Words’

Hamas publicly repeated that it is ready for a comprehensive deal, a claim met with sharp skepticism in Jerusalem. Israel’s foreign minister and the Prime Minister’s Office described the statement as empty rhetoric.

Informed sources told the paper that the United States is working behind the scenes in an effort to resume hostage-deal talks, though there has been no breakthrough.

The dispute underscores the gap between public positioning and the practical steps needed to free the remaining hostages and end hostilities.

Pro-Palestinian Activist Throws Red Paint on Israeli Singer at Concert in Warsaw

An anti-Israel activist disrupted Israeli singer David D’Or’s performance in Warsaw on Sunday night, August 31, 2025, storming the stage with a Palestinian flag and throwing red paint on him mid-song. Security quickly apprehended the woman and removed her from the auditorium.

After the concert, D’Or posted a clip of the incident and described how, while praying “Avinu Malkeinu,” he suddenly felt a splash and saw a strong red color “resembling blood” on his clothes, face, the stage, and other musicians. He said the moment brought him back to “the horrors of October 7.”

D’Or told an interviewer that the audience was frightened; he tried to calm them, leading the hall in singing and prayer. The incident follows a wave of anti-Israel activism targeting Israeli artists and events across Europe over the summer.

3-Year-Old Finds 3,800-Year-Old Canaanite Seal on Family Trip Near Beit Shemesh

During a family walk at Tel Azeka near Beit Shemesh, 3½-year-old Ziv Nitzan picked up a small stone that turned out to be a Middle Bronze Age scarab amulet—about 3,800 years old. Her sister, Omer, recalled how Ziv bent down and chose that one stone among many, rubbing away the sand to reveal something special. The family reported the discovery to the Israel Antiquities Authority and received a certificate of appreciation for good citizenship.

The IAA plans to display the find at the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel during Passover, alongside artifacts from Egypt and Canaan. Expert Dr. Daphna Ben-Tor identified the item as a Canaanite scarab, noting that such pieces served as seals and amulets in graves, public buildings, and homes, often bearing religious symbols and messages.

Scarab seals—tiny, ornate objects shaped like the dung beetle—symbolized new life in ancient Egypt. Tel Azeka itself is a layered site with finds from many eras, including the Judahite Kingdom; it is traditionally associated with the David and Goliath battlefield described in 1 Samuel 17. Officials praised the family for contributing the seal to Israel’s national treasures so that the public can enjoy it.
