Iran Sent Russia over 100 Million Rounds of Ammo, Plans to Send More - Report
Iran has provided Russia with about 100 million bullets, 300,000 artillery shells and ammunition for rocket launchers, grenades and mortars, and is planning to send more ammunition, British media reported on Wednesday, March 8, citing a security source.
The source said that two Russian cargo ships left a port in Iran in January, transporting the ammunition to Russia via the Caspian Sea, and that Russia had paid for the material in cash.
The British media outlet speculated that Russia is using the ammunition to replenish supplies expended during its invasion of Ukraine. According to Israeli media, Ukraine stated that Russia had also received 2400 drones from Iran.
In February, the White House said the US had information that Iran had sent artillery and tank rounds to Russia, and that Russia was considering sending fighter jets in return. (JPost / VFI News)

Iran Secured Secret Deal with Russia over Uranium for Nuke Program - Report
Iran reached a secret agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July to bypass a future renegotiated nuclear deal over its reported illicit atomic weapons program, enabling Moscow to return Tehran’s enriched uranium, according to a media report.
The International Atomic Energy Agency two weeks ago said it had located uranium particles at Iran’s underground Fordo site that were enriched to 83.7% purity, which is near weapons-grade material for an atomic weapon.
On Sunday, March 5, American media said it had been told by a foreign intelligence source: “As part of the agreement between the two countries, Russia has undertaken to return all the enriched uranium to Iran as quickly as possible if, for any reason, the US withdraws from the agreement.”
According to the intelligence source, “President Putin, who made a special trip to Iran to pursue weapons deals between the two countries, agreed to approve the request, apparently due to his interest in compensating the Iranians for their assistance.”
“This would significantly undermine US interests and would give Russia de facto control over the nuclear agreement in the present and future,” the intelligence source said, according to the report.
Iran’s UN Mission denied that there was a secret deal with Russia. (JPost / VFI News)

Netanyahu: ‘Horrible Nuclear War’ Will Break out, if Iran Isn’t Stopped
A “horrible nuclear war” will break out if the world does not stop Tehran from obtaining atomic weapons, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in his first ever address to the Iranian people on Thursday night, March 9.
“If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, this will be a problem all of us will face. It will change the world,” he said in an English-language interview with Washington-based Persian media that was also dubbed into Persian and broadcast in Iran.
Netanyahu said he had a message for “those who say, ‘Well, if we take action against Iran, we will face war’ – You will face a war if you don’t, a potentially horrible nuclear war if you don’t.”
“Iran’s nuclear program has hit a danger zone,” he said, adding that Israeli actions had delayed them by a decade, but now the program is pushing forward. The international community must deliver a strong common message to Iran, according to Netanyahu.
The security of the world and the hopes of the Iranian people are at stake, Netanyahu said. He has long argued that the combination of crippling sanctions and the presence of a credible military threat is the only way to stop Iran from producing nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu added that the Iranian people and Israel have a common enemy in the Islamic Republic. To the Iranian people, “We stand with you; I stand with you,” he said. “But now most of the world stands with you. You should know that. Do not lose heart. Be strong.” (JPost / VFI News)
“God, we are grateful that our leadership speaks out against the Iranian nuclear program and takes active steps to prevent it from materializing. We sincerely hope that more nations will follow and join this significant cause.”
Iran May Be Behind BDS ‘Hit List’ Targeting Boston Jews - Report
The Islamic Republic of Iran may be the regime that created an anonymous "Mapping Project" website that serves to pinpoint locations of Jewish or Zionist communal spaces and organizations, as well as law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts in an "attempt to expose and isolate" supporters of Israel.
The Mapping Project also includes "a disturbing and anti-Semitic call to 'dismantle' and 'disrupt' most of Boston's Jewish community and concludes with a thinly veiled threat that 'every entity has an address, every network can be disrupted".
According to a Zachor statement, “more than two-thirds of the 505 ‘targets’ featured on the website are not Jewish institutions, but rather US security institutions, including the exact locations of 271 police stations, 9 US military bases and installations, offices of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Secret Service, and US government-linked weapons manufacturers, all of which are pinpointed on a single interactive map.”
The legal organization noted that the “outsized focus placed on the American security apparatus indicates that the map is not domestic in origin, but might be a product of a foreign agenda and that the chief suspect is the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Their detailed report notes that an Iranian regime-owned media outlet published a "supportive column" on June 26, 2022, and a 30-minute video segment about it in July of the same year that praised the Mapping Project and called for its replication in all 50 American states. (JPost / VFI News)

Saudi Arabia: Peace with Israel Contingent on US Promises, Nuclear Aid
Peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel is contingent on assistance from Washington in developing the Saudi civilian nuclear program and the provision of security guarantees, according to a Thursday, March 9, exclusive report by American media, citing discussions between the two countries.
The report said lawmakers at the US Capitol would oppose such demands. Upon being asked by an Italian newspaper if the Abraham Accords would include Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they will “evolve” and that “others will follow, especially if we have the adhesion of Saudi Arabia. But it has to be a Saudi choice.”
Former US ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro said it would be “a very tough Gordian knot to cut,” referring to the possible deal between Saudi Arabia and Israel, the news outlet quoted him as saying.
Another American report from mid-February said Israel and Saudi Arabia were reportedly developing closer military and intelligence ties and shared concerns over Iran.
Previously, Saudi Arabia maintained that peace with Israel could only be possible once Palestinians and Israelis reached a two-state solution. (JPost / VFI News)

UN Rights Chief Calls for 'Serious' Lebanon Blast Investigation
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights called for a "serious investigation" into the disastrous 2020 Beirut port explosion in a call that was echoed by dozens of other countries on Tuesday, March 7.
Families of victims, rights groups, and even some political parties in Lebanon have lambasted political stonewalling of the local investigation into the blast that killed 218 people.
The investigating judge has tried to resume his inquiry after a 13-month suspension due to high-level interference, but Lebanon's top prosecutor has told clerks not to process his decisions.
"Serious investigation into the explosion of August 2020 is urgently needed, without political interference or further delay," Volker Turk said in his global address to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Shortly afterwards, Australia's envoy read out a statement on behalf of 38 countries including many European states, Canada, Britain and Israel calling for a "swift, independent, credible and transparent investigation".
It said the investigation to date had been "hampered by systematic obstruction, interference, intimidation, and a political impasse". (JPost / VFI News)
“God, we ask that the real culprits of the 2020 Beirut explosion can soon be revealed. We pray that such tragedies will be prevented onwards, and that the families of the deceased can finally dwell in peace”
Israel to Offer Italy Gas, Wants It to Recognize Jerusalem as Capital
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hopes to sway Italy to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, as he headed to Rome on Thursday, March 9, for a three-day visit.
"I believe the time has come for Rome to recognize Jerusalem as the ancestral capital of the Jewish people for three thousand years, as the United States did with a gesture of great friendship," Netanyahu said in an interview with Italian media.
Like the rest of the European Union, Italy has opposed recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital outside of the final status agreement for a two-state resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
Netanyahu is hoping that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who took office last year and is known as a strong supporter of Israel, will defy EU policy and take a step in support of Jerusalem.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who leads the rightist Northern League Party, immediately backed Netanyahu’s call. “I firmly say yes to Jerusalem capital of Israel, in the name of peace, history and truth,” he posted on Twitter.
In an interview with British media in August last year, before she became prime minister, Meloni was more cautious, saying she had no plans to follow the US, which transferred its embassy to Jerusalem. “It is a diplomatic matter and should be evaluated together with the Foreign Ministry,” Meloni said. Chaim Topol, who Brought Fiddler to the Screen, Dies at 87
Chaim Topol, who passed away in Israel on Wednesday, March 8, was a beloved, acclaimed Israeli actor, best known around the world for his portrayal of Tevye in the film adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof. He was 87.
Decades before Gal Gadot, Topol was the first Israeli to conquer Hollywood, receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for Fiddler on the Roof in 1972, and winning a Golden Globe for the role.
As David Brinn put it in a 2012 profile of the actor, “He was Israel’s most famous export since the Jaffa orange.” Topol, who was usually known abroad only by his last name, was a gifted singer, as well as a talented actor.
He also won a Golden Globe in 1965 for Most Promising Newcomer – Male for the other role with which he would be most closely associated throughout his career, the title role in Ephraim Kishon’s comic masterpiece, Sallah Shabati.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted on Thursday: “My wife Sara and I, like all citizens of Israel, part sorrowfully today from our beloved Chaim Topol... one of Israel’s greatest artists. He had a great love for the Land of Israel, and the nation loved him back.” (JPost / VFI News)
