Mahmoud Abbas Calls on Hamas to Free Hostages, Hand Over Arms
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on "sons of dogs" Hamas to "hand over the hostages" in a televised speech at the PA's Central Council on Wednesday, April 23.
Abbas added that the "war must end," citing that hundreds are dying every day because "[Hamas] doesn't want to hand over the American hostages. Sons of dogs - hand over the hostages and end the matter."
Abbas said the goals are "Returning the hostages; lifting the Israeli blockade of Gaza; stopping the displacement of our people in coordination with Arab countries; defending the Palestinian cause."
He also stressed that "Hamas must end its control of the Gaza Strip and hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority." Abbas also called on Hamas to turn itself into a political party, saying "Talk to us instead of the Americans."
He also condemned Israel's actions during the war, saying, "The coup carried out by Hamas in 2007 gave Israel a pretext to destroy the Gaza Strip. 2,165 families were completely wiped out, and 6,664 were partially wiped out. More than two-thirds of the homes were destroyed in the war." (JPost/VFI News)
“Our Heavenly Father, we pray for the Palestinians who have been trying to stand up to Hamas and have them removed from their position of power. We ask that you eliminate the terror groups in the Gaza Strip and raise up leaders who desire peace with Israel. We continue to pray for the hostages and their families. Please bring their quick release, complete restoration and a dignified life. In Yeshua's Name we pray.”
Trump Clarifies: No Role for Hamas in Gaza's Future Governance
US President Donald Trump made clear on Tuesday, April 22, that the United States would not allow Hamas to play a role in governing the Gaza Strip after the war.
“We're not going to let Hamas do that, and we're going to see what happens with Gaza,” Trump said in response to a question from a reporter on the issue.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump announced that he had spoken with Netanyahu on a range of issues and said that the two leaders are in alignment on all of those issues. "I’ve just spoken to Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, relative to numerous subjects including Trade, Iran, etc. The call went very well—We are on the same side of every issue," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Earlier this month, Trump commented on the situation in Gaza, saying he would like to get as many hostages back as possible. On Gaza, Trump said, “Gaza's a very, very important thing. It's been under siege for many, many years. It's a shame. A lot of people die in Gaza. A lot of bad things happen in Gaza. We'll see what we can do about it.”
Further, on Tuesday, British media reported that Qatar and Egypt have proposed a new deal to end the war in Gaza and free the hostages. According to the report, the mediators are proposing a five-to-seven-year halt to hostilities, the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian Arab prisoners held in Israeli jails, a formal end to the war, and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. “Dear Lord, we thank You for Your immense Love, Your care for us, as well as the allies You have placed in our lives. We pray that You guide the world leaders into making the best decisions concerning the war, and the release of the hostages, in alignment with Your Will. We also pray in Yeshua's Name for an end to the war and that very few dangerous Palestinian prisoners be released.”
Trump Marks Holocaust Remembrance Day: Never Again Means Now
In a formal proclamation released on Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, April 23, paid tribute to the six million Jews and millions of other innocent victims murdered by the Nazis during one of history’s darkest chapters.
“We honor the blessed memories of the six million Jewish men, women, and children who were viciously slaughtered by the genocidal Nazi regime and their collaborators,” Trump stated.
The proclamation recalled the solemn commemoration earlier this year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. “We memorialized the lives of the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, grandmothers, and grandfathers whose futures were barbarically ripped away in Nazi-occupied Europe,” Trump said.
Emphasizing the enduring responsibility to remember, he added, “We once again honor every Holocaust survivor who has imparted their wisdom to younger generations. Today and every day, we commit to preserving their stories.”
Trump reflected on the enduring legacy of the Holocaust and the birth of modern Israel: “Even in the wake of the Holocaust, a self-determined Jewish homeland rose from the ashes as the modern State of Israel.”
However, the President warned that the threat of antisemitism remains present. “Sadly, our Nation has borne witness to the worst outbreak of antisemitism on American soil in generations,” he said, referring to the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel. (INN/VFI News)
“Dear God, we pray for all the remaining Holocaust survivors, as well as their families. We pray that You reveal Yourself to them and that You do not let any nation repeat what the nazi regime had accomplished. We also pray fervently for all the Jewish people currently experiencing antisemitism worldwide. We pray that You protect them, help them feel safe and comfort them regarding previous incidents they might have been victims of. Please, take care of their mental health and become their shield during these trying times. We thank You for Your Love and we trust in Your plan for the lives of all those who love You.”
Netanyahu at Yad Vashem: We Are Not A Vassal State, No One Can Stop Us from Defeating Evil
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the state Holocaust Remembrance Day opening ceremony on Wednesday, April 23, and pledged that Israel will not stop fighting until Hamas is destroyed.
"We will destroy the Hamas monsters who perpetrated the cruelest massacre since the Holocaust. There will not be an Islamic califate, not in the south, not in the north, and not in Judea and Samaria," Netanyahu stated.
He added: "The military pressure on Hamas will continue. We will bring back all the hostages. We will defeat Hamas and deny Iran nuclear weapons." Netanyahu harkened back to last year and the international pressure on Israel not to launch operations in Rafah, which Israel did on Holocaust Remembrance Day, 2024.
He mentioned threats by allies to impose arms embargoes on Israel and stated: "If we need to fight with our fingernails, we'll fight with our fingernails. Israel is not a vassal state. No pressure and no resolution can prevent us from settling the score with the barbaric murderers."
The Prime Minister also mentioned the Iranian threat. "The Iranian regime of horrors is a threat to the future of the entire human society. This is what will happen if it obtains nuclear weapons. The struggle with it will determine the fate of all free countries." (INN/VFI News)

Trump Admin Cheers ‘Important Steps’ as Paraguay Labels IRGC and Proxies Terrorist Organizations
The Trump administration is applauding a major move by a key South American ally in the global fight against terrorism. On Thursday, April 24, the US State Department issued a statement congratulating Paraguay’s President Santiago Peña for officially labeling Iran’s IRGC a terrorist organization.
"The United States welcomes President Santiago Peña’s designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization," said State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
In addition to the IRGC designation, Paraguay also expanded its 2019 designations of the armed wings of Hezbollah and Hamas to include the entirety of both organizations.
The Trump administration hailed it as a firm stand against Iranian-backed extremism."Iran remains the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world and has financed and directed numerous terrorist attacks and activities globally, through its IRGC-Qods Force and proxies such as Hezbollah and Hamas," Bruce said.
The decision is particularly significant in the Tri-Border Area, the region where Paraguay borders Argentina and Brazil, which has long been considered a financial hub for Hezbollah-linked operatives. The State Department said Paraguay’s action will help cut off the Iranian regime’s ability to fund terrorism and operate in Latin America. (FN/VFI News)
“For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Hamashiach will give you light.” - Ephesians 5:12-14
‘Worked In Darkness’: Jordan Bans Muslim Brotherhood
On Wednesday, April 23, Jordan banned the Muslim Brotherhood from the country. On April 15, Jordanian security services acknowledged arresting 16 people accused of endangering national security related to weapons, and explosives and plans to build drones and train fighters.
Jordanian Interior Minister Mazin Al Farrayeh said on Wednesday that “elements of the Muslim Brotherhood” had “worked in darkness to carry out activities that undermine stability and tamper with security and national unity.”
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 by a Muslim teacher in Egypt named Hassan al-Banna, who wrote, “It is in the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”
Their 2010 Supreme Guide advised being “patient” because America “is heading towards its demise.” The Hamas charter states that it is a “wing of the Muslim Brotherhood.” Former Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohammed Mahdi Akef praised Osama bin Laden in 2007, writing that he was “in all certainty, a mujahid (heroic fighter).”
During President Donald Trump’s first term, the administration considered designating the group a terrorist organization. (DW/VFI News)

Danon in Krakow: Antisemitism Rising Again under the Guise of Social Justice
As part of this year's March of the Living, the International Ceremony of Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism was held in Krakow on Wednesday evening, April 23, in the presence of Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, and a delegation of UN ambassadors.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Danon said, “Eighty years after the Holocaust, we see antisemitism rising again — this time without swastikas but under the guise of ‘social justice.’”
“They talk about ‘liberation,’ but call for extermination. Each generation finds new excuses for this age-old hatred, and the world is silent.”
He added, “Even now, when 59 hostages are still being held captive, the silence continues. But the days when our blood was shed and we were silent are over! We will not apologize for defending ourselves, and we proudly say: Am Israel Chai!” (INN/VFI News)
Sa'ar to Huckabee: ‘Israel Could Not Have Hoped for A Better Ambassador’
Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar held his first working meeting with the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, on Monday, April 21, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. The meeting took place shortly after Ambassador Huckabee presented his credentials to President Herzog.
Minister Sa’ar and Ambassador Huckabee held a one-on-one meeting, followed by an expanded meeting with their teams. Minister Sa’ar congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his role and thanked him for his unwavering support for Israel over the years.
He added that Israel could not have hoped for a better ambassador, given Huckabee’s long-standing friendship and commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
The meeting focused on key strategic issues on the agenda, chief amongst them the Iranian nuclear threat. The two also discussed ways to enhance relations between the countries. (INN/VFI News)
