Iran Escalates Repression Toward 'North Korea-Style Model of Control'
Following its 12-day war with Israel, Iran's regime has intensified domestic repression, pushing the nation toward an isolated, authoritarian state resembling North Korea. Experts report unprecedented suppression, with citizens in Tehran facing arbitrary phone searches and detentions.
The regime also imposed an internet blackout during the conflict, silencing communication and isolating its population. This was reportedly aimed at preventing pro-Israel sentiment and street protests, as many Iranians initially supported the Israeli strikes against the IRGC.
Analysts say the IRGC is now facing internal purges, with radical younger officers accusing older commanders of disloyalty. With its military capabilities degraded, the regime may increasingly resort to asymmetric terrorism. Observers say the growing repression reflects fear and instability, not strength. (BB/VFI News)
